Sub-metering
Southern Water will install a water meter on or near the stop tap or property boundary of residential properties in its serviced areas. This includes strata title properties, which will receive one water meter per service connection (pipe) entering the property. Customers will not be charged for the installation of the master water meter.
If all strata title property owners agree to install sub-meters at each dwelling, Southern Water will provide the standard-sized 20mm water meters at Southern Water’s cost. Customers will then be responsible for the cost of having their plumber install the sub-meters to Southern Water’s specifications.
