Where your money goes
Safe, clean drinking water and effective sewerage treatment are essential for life. To achieve this, communities need to invest in infrastructure and systems that will deliver these services.
Southern Water is investing $41.84 million to upgrade existing infrastructure and develop new projects in the 2009/2010 financial year. This program of work aims to deliver significant long-term environmental and health benefits for southern Tasmania.
We have already commenced and continued work on a number of projects. These include addressing sewerage issues in Salamanca, working to remove boil water notices in Swansea and Ellendale, increasing the volume of re-use water available for irrigation and improving wastewater treatment systems in Lauderdale, Ranelagh, Blackmans Bay, Cambridge and Rosny.
