Vision & Values

We aim to provide leading practice water and wastewater services in the most efficient and cost effective manner.  In line with this aim we’ve set a range of aspirational goals to be achieved by 30 June 2013, including:
  • 100% of customers connected to our drinking water supply systems will receive acceptable water quality;
  • 60% of sewage will be treated to acceptable standards;
  • Full compliance with our Customer Charter;
  • All critical systems and processes are in place, measured and reported;
  • Cost efficiencies of 4% of operating expenses on a like for like basis; and
  • Providing value to owners in the form of agreed distributions.
  • Our vision is to create lasting value for our communities by providing sustainable water and wastewater solutions, where:
  • ‘To create’ means to mobilise the energy and capability of our people and service providers to generate continuous improvement;
  • ‘Lasting value’ means long term benefits and returns to our communities and owners;
  • ‘Sustainable’ means identifying and incorporating social, environmental and economic benefits; and
  • ‘Water and wastewater solutions’ means implementing consistent local infrastructure improvements that meet agreed levels of service.
In achieving our vision we will adhere to the following values:
  • Better communities – we will foster better communities by addressing local issues with local solutions through listening, understanding, developing options, selecting an option, implementing, reviewing and celebrating.
  • No harm – we will be a business that seeks to consider and prevent harm, in any form through the rigorous and vigilant continuous improvements of our core business systems based on our philosophy of ‘plan, do, check and improve’.
  • It’s up to us – as a new business we all have a lot to learn.  We are in this together and, by working as a team, we will succeed.  No one person or group can make this work on their own.  We will draw upon our broad range of talents, experiences and networks to address our challenges.  by working together we will continually improve what we do and how we do it – with our overall purpose in mind – a better community and no harm.
  • Lasting value – we will make a conscious effort to deliver products and services whose benefits to the community outweigh their costs.  This will be achieved by having the decision-making ability, based on life cycle analysis, to understand the range of customers who will benefit in any given community.
