Servicing Advice (Pre-lodgement)
Since 1 July 2009, Southern Water is responsible for approving any relevant water and sewerage infrastructure related aspects of planning, building and plumbing applications in southern Tasmania.
Southern Water provides a number of services to planning, building and plumbing customers. Services include certification and assistance with planning, building, plumbing, water and sewerage related works, trade waste and information requests.
Before you begin planning your development we recommend finding out about the water and sewerage requirements and some of the potential costs that might be involved with your development. You can do this by submitting a pre-lodgement request to Southern Water for a report of the existing infrastructure and how this may impact your development. It is helpful to also attach a sketch or brief cover note of your proposal.
Southern Water offer a pre-lodgement service, where a prospective developer can arrange to make an appointment with one of our Development Services staff to discuss the potential development, prior to any official applications being made to Council or Southern Water.
Pre-lodgement meetings are available every Wednesday and can be booked by contacting Development Services on 13 6992 or emailing email@example.com
If you do not wish to gain pre-lodgement advice in a face-to-face situation, you may also submit details of your development, along with an application form for Water and Sewer Servicing Advice electronically by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
